Introduction
Assertiveness training is a form of psychotherapy aimed at helping individuals develop a healthy sense of self-esteem and self-confidence in order to express their thoughts, feelings, and needs in a clear and respectful manner. This type of training is especially beneficial for individuals who struggle with being assertive, as it can help them become more effective communicators in both their personal and professional lives.

The purpose of this observational research study is to examine the impact of assertiveness training on individuals' communication skills. By observing a group of participants who have undergone assertiveness training, we aim to determine whether there is a significant improvement in their ability to communicate assertively, as well as any other positive outcomes resulting from the training.

Participants
The participants in this study were selected from a local community center that offered assertiveness training programs. A total of 20 individuals, ranging in age from 25 to 50, volunteered to participate in the study. Half of the participants were male and half were female. All participants had self-reported difficulties with assertiveness prior to attending the training program.

Procedure
The participants were assessed on their communication skills before and after completing the assertiveness training program. This assessment involved a series of role-playing exercises in which participants were asked to respond to various assertiveness scenarios. The participants' responses were then rated by trained observers based on their level of assertiveness, communication effectiveness, and overall confidence.

The assertiveness training program consisted of weekly sessions over a period of six weeks. The program included a combination of instructional lectures, group discussions, and practical exercises aimed at enhancing participants' assertiveness skills. Topics covered in the program included understanding assertiveness, recognizing and expressing feelings, setting boundaries, and dealing with difficult situations.

Discussion
The findings of this observational research study support the effectiveness of assertiveness training in improving individuals' communication skills. The results suggest that assertiveness training can help individuals develop a healthy sense of self-confidence and empowerment, enabling them to communicate more effectively in various social and professional settings.

One possible limitation of this study is the small sample size, which may limit the generalizability of the results. Future research could benefit from including a larger and more diverse sample of participants to further validate the findings of this study.

Overall, assertiveness training appears to be a valuable tool for individuals seeking to enhance their communication skills and improve their overall quality of life. By developing assertiveness skills, individuals can become more confident, empowered, and successful communicators in both their personal and professional relationships. Further research is needed to explore the long-term effects of assertiveness training and its impact on individuals' well-being.
